Australian Football Selections - Girls

*Note - CSNSW Sport does not conduct Australian Football Girls Trials. NSWPSSA will conduct an All Schools regional trials to compete at a NSWPSSA Championship in May (more details to come). There will be 8 teams based on regions across NSW and students will trial in these teams based on their residence. More information regarding registrations will be made available as soon as possible and will be done via the D.A.S.H. system.

This trial is a School Sport Unit initiative and is only for primary school girls 12 years and under. Girls can be 12, however must not be turning 13 in 2024. Girls enrolled in secondary school are ineligible to trial.

Tackling is permitted and will occur at this level of competition. Students turning 9 years of age or younger during 2024 are deemed too young for selection and will not be eligible to trial.

The trial will begin at 10:00 am and conclude by 2:30pm, please arrive at 9:30am to sign in. Students must wear clothing appropriate for playing Australian Football. Boots and fitted mouthguards must also be worn (mandatory, no exceptions). Students will not be permitted to participate if a fitted mouthguard is not worn.

All Registrations are to be done via DASH, not via CSNSW Sport portal.

Venues

Various venues across NSW. Students will nominate to trial at a cross education sector selection day closest in proximity to the school in which they are enrolled. 

What to Bring

• Mouthguard is compulsory
• Appropriate attire for game conditions
• Medication eg Asthma inhaler
• Own strapping tape
• Water Bottle x 2
• Lunch
• Please note food will not be sold at the venues.

In line with the Department of Education’s COVID-smart measures, students should stay at home if unwell and consider doing a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) if showing symptoms. Students should only attend the trial if symptom free. Please contact the event coordinator if this becomes an issue for your child at the time of the trial.

8 Regional All Schools teams will be selected to attend the Schools Sport Unit Girls Australian Football  State Selections.
