NSW Department of Education Sport Safety Guidelines - Tennis

General Rules |
- Preliminary round games: First to four games and short deuce.
- Tiebreakers at 3-all (first to 7 tiebreak).
- Both players must report scores to be recorded.
- If issues arise, players should place their racket on the ground and notify their team manager.
- Only the team manager may approach the convenor regarding disputes.
- Players must umpire their own game and call scores clearly.
- Byes are recorded as a win. If needed, games will be averaged out to rank players.

Playoff Rounds |
- The top three players from each pool will progress to the playoffs.
- Playoff matches follow the same scoring system as the preliminary rounds.
Round 1:
- MATCH D: A2 vs C3 (knockout) – winner moves to Round 2 (D1)
- MATCH E: B2 vs A3 (knockout) – winner moves to Round 2 (E1)
- MATCH F: B3 vs C2 (knockout) – winner moves to Round 2 (F1)
Round 2:
- Match G: A1 vs F1
- Match H: B1 vs D1
- Match I: C1 vs E1

Ranking of Polding Team |
- Winners of matches G, H, and I will be selected for the team.
- They will play off for positions 1, 2, and 3 if they have not played each other already.
- Losers of matches G, H, and I will play off for positions 4, 5, and 6.
- All matches follow the same scoring system as previous rounds.

Selection Process |
- The convenor will assign pools on the morning of the trials.
- The convenor reserves the right to adjust pool structures after all players have signed in.
- Team selectors will observe all players and take notes.
- A player demonstrating potential may be moved into the playoffs at the selectors' discretion.
- The ranking of selected players will determine their progression to the NSWPSSA Championships.

Player Responsibilities |
- Demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times.
- Be attentive and follow all instructions.
- Remain within the complex during the event.
- No playing during breaks.
- Seek First Aid assistance if required.
- Notify their Diocese Manager of any issues.

Adverse Weather Guidelines |
- Officials will monitor weather conditions closely.
- Events may be delayed, suspended, or canceled if risks arise.
- Decisions will be based on:
- Information from the Bureau of Meteorology
- Physical observations of weather conditions
- Discussions between CSNSW Sport representatives and match officials
- The ground manager/convener has the authority to stop an event at any time.
