NSWCCC Basketball Selections


All players will be under 19 years of age as at the 31st December in the year of competition.
Players must be in Years 10, 11 or 12 in the year of competition.
Players must have representative experience

Further Representation

A NSWCCC team will be selected to attend the NSW All Schools Basketball Championships.

For more details see the 'Further Representation' tab above. 

By Attending this selection, you will be available for selection in teams in the next levels of the pathway. 

Selection Format

Individuals to nominate using the NSWCCC website by the closing date
The selection trials will be conducted by the coaching staff and NSWCCC appointed selectors on a day and at a venue to be determined by the NSWCCC Basketball Convener each year.
The trial process may include training and skill workshops as well as scrimmage games.

Program of Events

9.00am Team officials & selectors meeting
9.15am Player registration
9.45am Welcome to all players, officials and spectators by NSWCCC Basketball
Convener and coaches.
Trial format explained
10.00am Warm up in gender specific groups
10.00am - 11.30am Session one
11.30pm - 12.00pm Break - selectors meeting
12.00pm - 1.30pm Session two
1.30pm - 1.45pm Break - Possible and Probable teams announced
1.45pm - 2.30pm Session three – final trial games
2.30pm - 3.00pm Announcement of teams.
Players are requested to remain behind for a brief meeting

This format is subject to change at the discretion of the NSWCCC Basketball Convener or NSWCCC Basketball Representative Coordinator.

NSWCCC Junior Basketball Championships

This is an inter school competition for the following divisions:-

  • Intermediate Boys (years 9-10)
  • Intermediate Girls (years 9-10)
  • Junior Boys (years 7-8)
  • Junior Girls (years 7-8)

To qualify for this event you must be the winner of your Dioceses/Association competition.

Additional Entries may be submitted through the Diocesan/Association Representative.

The Basketball Sub-Committee will determine who is accepted. 


Boys: Monday 25th October 2021 - Tuesday 26th October 2021
Girls: Monday 25th October 2021 - Tuesday 26th October 2021

Closing Date

Wednesday, 15 September 2021


Boys: Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre,  30 Herbert Street Cambridge Park

Girls: YMCA Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium, 16 Stewart St, South Windsor

Basketball Rules

Each school must supply their own school playing uniform and a match ball.

Singlets must have matching numbers on the front and back.

Schools are encouraged to bring their own referee. (Please let the CSNSW Sport Office know ASAP)

Canteen will be open.

Each team is to supply one bench official for each game in which they are playing. Duty will not be required before or after games. Schools with only one team may have to strike up a working relationship with another team to work for each other. Please ensure that your scorers are responsible and competent. GAMES WILL BE FORFEITED IF A COMPETENT BENCH OFFICIAL IS NOT SUPPLIED. The coach is not to do bench duty while coaching the team.

Open Age competition

This is an inter school competition. There is no qualifying for this competition. Schools are invited to self nominate via registering on the website
Students can be in Year 7 to 12 however it is the responsibility of the school to ensure players are capable of playing against students up to Year 12
Maximum of 12 players - Minimum of 10 players
Teams of 12 players must have at least 8 team members in years 11 or 12. Teams of 10 players must have at least 7 players in years 11 or 12

Date & Venue 

Change - Both Girls and Boys are now at Penrith.

Girls & Boys: Tuesday 15 June 2021 - Wednesday 16th June 2021
