16&U BOYS & GIRLS BROKEN BAY RUGBY LEAGUE SELECTION TRIALS 2026
To nominate for selections students will need to register individually via the Catholic Schools NSW Sport website - https://csnsw.sport/.
School Sports coordinators will need to approve all nominations.
- BOYS must turn 15 or 16 years of age in the year of competition.
- GIRLS must turn 15 or 16 years of age in the year of competition.
- NO AGE DISPENSATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED
Registrations close Thursday 26th February 2026
Date: Friday 6th March 2026
Venue: EDSACC Sth, Bateau Bay
Outline of the day: Students will be placed into random teams and participate in the playing positions of their registered preferences.
16&U BOYS 11.00AM-1.30PM
11am – 12pm – Sign In / Skills and Drills Sessions
12pm – 1.30pm – Selection Games
16&U GIRLS 1.00PM-2.30PM
12.45pm – Sign In
1pm – 1.30pm – Skills and Drills Sessions
1.30pm – 2.30pm – Selection Games
What to wear:
Students will need to wear their rugby league shorts and socks.
Playing jerseys will be provided on the day.
What to bring:
- MOUTHGUARDS ARE COMPULSORY
- FOOTBALL BOOTS ARE COMPULSORY
- Medications eg puffers, EpiPens, ankle guards etc
- Own strapping tape - All taping should be applied prior to arrival
- Personal protective equipment if chosen – shoulder pads etc
- Water Bottle
- Nutritious Snacks if needed

Students selected to represent CSBB will be notified via email following this selection trial with details regarding the Metropolitan trial on Tuesday 31st March 2026.

ALL STUDENTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO HAVE A CONCUSSION DECLARATION COMPLETED BY A PARENT/GUARDIAN PRIOR TO PARTICIPATING IN THIS TRIAL – information will be sent to parents 2 days prior to the trial.
18&U BOYS & GIRLS BROKEN BAY RUGBY LEAGUE PATHWAY 2026
To nominate for selections students will need to register individually via the Catholic Schools NSW Sport website - https://csnsw.sport/.
School Sports coordinators will need to approve all nominations.
Students must turn 17 or 18 years of age in the year of competition.
Please note a decision on whether a Broken Bay level trial will be held for 18’s in 2026 will be determined based on numbers.
Nominated students will nominate directly to Metropolitan Combined Catholic Colleges (Metro) team selection trials combined with Parramatta Diocese* (& CGSSSA for Girls).
*18&U Boys - 18&U boys should have solid representative credentials e.g. SG Ball, Harold Matthews, Andrew Johns / Laurie Daley Cup.
Registrations will close at midnight on Thursday 26th February 2026.

Outline of the day: Students will play in Diocesan teams
10.30am – arrive, sign-in, uniform presentation & team photo
11.00am – warm-up
11.30-12.45pm – selection games (2 x 30min halves boys) (2 x 25mins halves girls)
12.45-1.30pm – cool-down, post-game debrief, return uniform, further selection outline
What to wear:
The students will play in a Broken Bay Rugby League jersey and shorts which will be ‘on loan’ for the selection trial. Students are to wear school sports uniform or optional Broken Bay items to and from the venue.

Cost - $40 (includes playing levy & socks)
Travel - Parents/Schools will make arrangements to transport students to and from the venue.
Under no circumstances are students permitted to drive themselves or other students to and from the venue.
If parents are finding transport options difficult, please contact school sports coordinators so appropriate and safe transport can be arranged.
Further pathway
Students selected into the Metro team will be notified via email following this selection trial with details regarding the NSWCCC Championships.
