Broken Bay Continues to See Strong Pathway Netball Selections

Congratulations to Sarah Hicks from Mount St Benedict College who was selected into the NSW All Schools U15 Netball Team that is currently competing in the School Sport Australia Championships in Perth. Sarah is also a current member of the Western Sydney Academy of Sport (WSAS) Netball Squad in 2022/23.

Our U18 Broken Bay Netball team were also in action recently at Menai. The skill set of these girls is extremely impressive with most regularly representing their local associations in the NSW Netball Metropolitan League. Congratulations to St Joseph’s Catholic College student Allie Read who has gained selection into the 2023 NSWCCC U18s Netball Team. This team will compete at the NSW All Schools Tri-Series Championships in September. Allie is also a current member and the NSW U17s emerging talent netball squad.

These school sporting pathways are a terrific development program for our high potential students and can potentially lead to elite careers in the field.

Broken Bay currently has two former students competing in the Suncorp Super Netball and through the Australian pathway - Lauren Moore (St Peter's Catholic College - Giants and Australian Development Squad member) and Kiera Austin (Mercy Catholic College - Melbourne Vixens and 2023 Australian World Cup team member).

We wish Kiera the best of luck at the upcoming World Netball Championships in South Africa.
