Broken Bay Swimming Championships

In early March, CSBB hosted its Combined Swimming Championships at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre, providing student athletes with the opportunity to compete in a world-class, international-standard venue while showcasing their swimming talents.

For our Primary students, the Championships marked the third stage of the representative pathway, following success at school swimming carnivals, progression through Zone competitions, and selection at Diocesan level. For Secondary students, this event marked the second level of representation following progression from school level carnivals.

Professional and passionate staff from our Primary and Secondary schools assisted with officiating at the event, as well as swim officials from NSW Swimming.  We also utilised the new Olly electronic timing system, which involves aerial digital imagery for streamlining and refining results.

The Championships saw strong participation across both cohorts, with 250 Secondary students and 206 Primary students competing. Primary representatives hailed from across the Diocese, including the Central Coast (68 students), Northern Beaches (75), and North Shore (63). The high calibre of competition resulted in a number of outstanding performances, highlighted by several record-breaking swims.

As a school’s competition for Secondary, we also congratulate the following schools who were awarded in the points score categories:
