Broken Bay Brilliance: National Spotlight on Student Athletes

Broken Bay was well represented at the recent School Sport Australia Sports Championships held recently on the Gold Coast with our students testing themselves against the best young athletes in the nation.

Our staff talent was also on display at this event, with Angela Wark (pictured) the esteemed coach from St Brigids, Lake Munmorah coach of the NSW All Schools U15 Girls Hockey Team

  • Netball: Marley Dighton represented MSB in the U15 Girls Netball.
  • Hockey: Abbey Mangan from St Peter’s and umpire Jonte Wicks from St Eddies contributed to the U15 Hockey.
  • Australian Football: Evana Butler from MSB showcased her skills in U15 Australian Football.
  • Softball: The talented Durnell sisters, Maddi and Milla, from St Leo’s Catholic College, Wahroonga and Cameron Baxter of MacKillop Catholic College, Warnervale, competed in softball.
  • Swimming Stars:
      • Bodi Bone from St Peter’s Catholic College, Tuggerah
      • Mia Burdack of Mount St Benedict College, Pennant Hills
      • Zannah Dixon from Brigidine College, St Ives
      • Dominika Kralka of Mater Maria Catholic College, Warriewood
      • Kye McDermott from St Brigid’s Catholic College, Lake Munmorah, smashed his PB by over 5 seconds to clinch a silver medal in the 400m Freestyle event
