Broken Bay Rugby League Talent Continues to Succeed at NSWCCC Championships
2023 NSWCCC RUGBY LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS
U18 Girls
On Wednesday 17th & Thursday 18th May students, officials and team coaches came together from across all regions of NSW to take part in the inaugural NSW Combined Catholic Colleges 18’s Girls Rugby League event.
All regional teams engaged in a training and development afternoon hosted by IGNITE - Centre of Excellence, Homebush. Students had the opportunity to train with their teammates, get to know players from other teams, had a tour of the state of the art facilities and were addressed by guest speaker Ruan Sims. Ruan shared words of encouragement, wisdom, advice and personal stories, to connect the next generation with the female rugby league game - past, present and future. It was a motivational and positive experience for all involved.
Awesome weather across the two days allowed the talent of the girls to be fully displayed. All regional teams took to the field at St Mary’s Stadium. The showcase of talent, skill, teamwork and personal application was of a very high level. We congratulate all players on their high level of performance and commitment. The day was a success for all students involved.
7 Broken Bay girls competed as members of the Metro Team. Thank you to Ms Darby Clark from St Joseph’s College East Gosford (Metro Team Manager) and Mr Duncan Black (Metro Team Coach) for their time with our students. Congratulations to Annabelle Ross from MacKillop who was selected into the inaugural U18 Girls NSW Rugby League Team.
