Broken Bay U16 Girls Rugby League

Yesterday the Under 16’s Broken Bay Girl’s Rugby League team combined with students from CGSSA to trial against Parramatta Diocese for the NSW Catholic Metropolitan Side. The Parramatta girls started strongly with their forward pack initially dominating but our girls rallied and held their own with some strong defence. In attack, guided by coach Vince Tavernese, the girls played beautiful edge to edge football where speed and agility found holes in the Parramatta defence. The encouragement and camaraderie, within the team was fantastic to see and strong communication and teamwork resulted in the closest game in Metro Trial history. Congratulations to the girls who have been named in the Metro side; they will proceed to the NSWCCC Trials later this term, but each of the girls in yesterday’s team should be justifiably proud of their efforts and we look forward to seeing them continue to develop as players over the coming years.
