18 HOLE INDIVIDUAL STROKE COMPETITION FOR BOYS AND GIRLS
Application will be accepted from both boys and girls who hold an AGU handicap within the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle and who attend Catholic Secondary schools within the Diocese.
Applicants must hold a registered 18 hole club handicap and application forms must include the players GOLFLINK NUMBER. There are four divisions for Years 7 and 8, Years 9 and 10, Years 11 and 12, and Girls.
9 HOLE AMBROSE TEAM COMPETITION
This event is open to competitors that do not have a formal AGU handicap. HCP players should be encouraged to play in the Championship event to provide opportunity for novice players to participate in this ambrose.
- The event is limited to 54 participants (2 teams of 3 per school).
- The students should be competent golfers and understand the rules & etiquette of the game.
- Teams of 3 in four division for Years 7 & 8, Years 9 & 10, Years 11 & 12 and Girls.
- The Ambrose format is a team format where the best shot from each member is then selected as the “teams shot”. All players then play from that spot & this continues until the ball is “holed out”.
18 HOLE TEAM’S EVENTS
To be eligible for the School Team’s Events schools must nominate three (3) boys on the “School’s Entry Form” and a mixed team of either 2 boys and a girl or 2 girls and boy. The results will be calculated on the basis of combined stroke score for Team Event.
Hit Off Tee and Groups
Players in the 18 hole event, will be allocated a hit-off group from the 1st Tee beginning at 8.00 am playing in groups of 4.
The teams event is a shotgun start on holes 10-18 from their nominated tee for all schools.
Dress
All players are required to dress in an appropriate manner.
Boys:
Shorts – should be dress shorts, no board shorts or football shorts are permitted. Players may wear long or short socks.
Shirts must have a collar & should be appropriate for a school event.
Girls:
Skirts, shorts or trousers may be worn. Collared shirts or ladies golf shirts are preferred. No Leggings, Tanks tops etc are to be worn .
If in doubt about dress standards please view the dress standards on the clubs website or contact your local club for dress etiquette.
Spectators:
Parents are welcome at the event but cannot be on course except for assistance for students with disability. Parents on course must have a WWCC number and must not coach.
