Broken Bay Cross Country
COMBINED BROKEN BAY CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP
In mid-May CSBB Sport hosted its Combined Cross Country Championships at Gosford Racecourse, providing student athletes with the opportunity to display their running talents at a venue that provided a different space for cross country running. Despite some wet weather in the lead-up which threatened the event going ahead, we were blessed with blue sky and sunshine for the day.
For our Primary students, the Championships marked the third stage of the representative pathway, following success at school cross country carnivals or trials, progression through Zone competitions, and selection at Diocesan level. For Secondary students, this event marked the second level of representation following progression from school level carnivals or trials.
The Championships saw strong participation across both cohorts, with 447 Secondary students and 459 Primary students competing. Primary representatives hailed from across the Diocese, including the Central Coast (148 students), Northern Beaches (157), and North Shore (154).
Professional and passionate staff from our Primary and Secondary schools assisted with officiating at the event, as well as some enthusiastic Secondary students.
As a school’s competition for Secondary, we also congratulate the following schools who were awarded in the points score categories:
Boys Champion School – St Leo’s Catholic College Wahroonga
Girls Champion School – Mater Maria Catholic College, Warriewood
