PRIMARY ZONE INTERSCHOOL EVENTS 2025

CSBB provides inclusive interschool sporting opportunities for students in Years 3–6 (Stages 2 and 3) through stand-alone Zone interschool gala day events. These events are designed to promote participation, enjoyment, and skill development in a non-competitive environment, with modified formats that focus on ability and inclusion. The selection of sports is informed by stakeholder surveys conducted periodically. Currently, the interschool sports offered include soccer, netball, touch-tag and tennis.

In 2025, approximately 15,000 primary students have participated in CSBB’s interschool sporting events—a testament to the dedication of passionate staff across our Primary schools. These large-scale events are made possible using council facilities across the Sydney metropolitan area and the Central Coast, ensuring maximum accessibility and participation. Each event provides students with a valuable opportunity to apply and extend the skills they’ve developed through school-based sport programs in the lead-up to the day.

These interschool events are strongly supported by CSBB Secondary schools, with secondary students contributing as umpires, referees, and mentors. Their involvement not only helps facilitate the non-competitive games but also provides valuable peer-led guidance to our Primary students, reinforcing understanding of game rules and fostering positive connections across our CSBB system.
